Taylor OTVC
Taylor OTVC
Hey everyone. I just got my talor otcv wire set from thunderracing and I was just wondering if these wires are already cut to length? I just opened the box and will be installing them tomorrow but I want to make sure before I hack them up since I have to put opti ends on them.
Re: Taylor OTVC
Yeah have fun with those, did you get the ones that bolt to the valve covers or the ones that attach to the side of the heads? The reason I ask, is I got the ones that attach to the side of the heads and they are a PITA to install! I had to bend and file them just to get em on. And yes you have to cut the wires, the kit should have came with a crimping/stripping tool. It isn't all that hard, put some liquid dish soap on the wires and the opti ends will slide on soooooo much easier!
Have fun with em,
Bill

Re: Taylor OTVC
Thanx for the help guys. I have the set that go into the valve cover, not the side mounts. Is it hard crimping on the opti ends on just putting on the boots?
Re: Taylor OTVC
It is easy crimping them on, the hard part is sliding on the boots. I hooked mine up to the spark plugs, then ran them through the holders and made sure it was going to the right spot on the opti and cut them. Then I crimped on the opti end and then slid on the boot. Putting on the boot for the coil with the 90* was actually alot easier then the opti ones!
Good luck,
Bill
