I'm using Taylor 8mm and an over-the-valve-cover setup. 8.5mm wires will not fit in the stock looms, and 8mm will require some "motivation." There's no real performance gain from using a thicker wire.

Thumbs down Taylor

I used Taylor wires and after 8 months two them burned in half. I won't go back to them. I asked the guy that does all my mods and he told me the best wires for my car because of the heat in the LT1 engine compartment are the MSD wires.

Any plug wire will burn, including MSDs. The jackets are silicone, and any contact with an exhaust component will burn them.

If you burned them, it's because they were routed incorrectly. A plug wire's resistance to burning isn't a factor that I would consider when purchasing a wire set, because they will all burn. If you're concerned about them burning, pick up some heat-treated fiberglass boots.

They were put in correctly but if you have seen or held the two wires you will see a difference in them. In my opinion Taylors aren't worth it.

I also use taylors and its the best wire ive seen yet. I use em on my 13 sec camaro and my 9 sec drag car. And did you run them over the valve cover or under the manifold and burn them that way. Just my .02 prorac1

If you read about them the heat rating on MSD is higher than Taylor wires. thats why they sell the loom kits...to run them up, but thats a pain in the ***. msd lets you run them the easiest and quickest way. my 2 cents

under the manifold is easier than over the valve cover? Try over once, and youll never run em under again. prorac1

A heat rating isn't going to help a plug wire when it's touching 700 degree exhaust manifolds/headers.

I've done both and I prefer under. That's just me dude. Everyone does things different, I've found that out being in these forums, So I hope we've all helped this dude and my purpose isn't to argue...he asked and we gave our opinions. When I ran them over i had to buy and cut my own wires and I didn't like that. I know they make them pre-cut now....I guess I am just used to the "hard way" once you've done it so many times it doesn't seem like such a big deal
