taking off a4 shifter

taking off a4 shifter

Any one know how to get the shifter off of a 97 ta that has the a4? need help fast.

There will be a small clip on the backside of the shifter near the base. Pop it out with a screwdriver after removing the button, and it should come off relatively easy.

Umm, you dont hafta take out the button. Just pop out that clip and the shifter will slide right off.

Ditto....Just remove the staple in front of the shifter **** and it will slide right off then you can remove the upper console.
