Taking Engine Out from Bottom But have a question
Actually 4. The writeups I have found online regarding taking out the LT1 show differently than what I think:
1. Do you have to remove the PS reservoir? It looks as if just removing the lines from the reservoir is enough.
2. Why take out the A/C dryer? Writeups show this but my best conclusion is to disconnect the opposite tube at the point of entry into the dash.
3. I see no reason to take out the ABS module. everything I have see says take it out but I don't see it as being in the way if you bend the brake lines a bit.
4. Steering linkage, can you just disconnect on the side of the steering wheel or do you really need to take out the linkage before dropping the engine? It would see just disconnecting one side would be enough.
Thanks all,
Ben

No, remove the the high and low pressure hoses at the rack.

I just unbolted the entire accessory mount bracket and suspended it without losing an freon (r* whatever)
3. I see no reason to take out the ABS module. everything I have see says take it out but I don't see it as being in the way if you bend the brake lines a bit.
Pop the two brake lines loose at the ABS module, this is a big time PITA.
4. Steering linkage, can you just disconnect on the side of the steering wheel or do you really need to take out the linkage before dropping the engine? It would see just disconnecting one side would be enough.
Remove the small intermediate shaft just above the rack, just two bolt and easy as hell
Thanks all,
Ben
