Taking apart a stock throttle body.

How do you get the shaft in the middle that holds the butterflies in out? I want to mill the stock throttle body out, but I can't get it apart.

Honestly I suggest you send it out. If you can't figure out how to get it apart you probably do not have the means to make the oblong new blades you will need.

Why would you oblong them? Also making the new blades is no problem at all in any shape or size being that I work in a sheet metal shop.

Re: Taking apart a stock throttle body.

You must cut certin parts of the throttle body to get the throttle shaft and blades out without damaging them.

The blades must be an elliptical shape because the do not set in the bore at a 90 degree angle. If you make the blades a round circle you will have an excessive amount of gap between the blades and bores. How do you plan on boring it?
