tag 3 months expired, cant pass emissions on madz28.com tune - help!
Hey guys, I've spoken with all of the people at the 'Georgia Clean Airforce' HQ and theyre completely clueless and of course can't help me. My car either passes or it doesn't, no grey area
.
just for reference my car isn't throwing any SES codes and also, I've driven my car around 750 miles since I last reset my PCM.
It is however, failing the Readiness tests on the OBD-2 testing. I'd had it tuned by madz28.com (Ion) but haven't really gotten any response or help from him on this. I'm posting four 'not readys' for rear o2, o2 heater, EGR and (i think) AIR. Does ANYONE know of why this might be? should i send my PCM off to PCMFORLESS.com and have them do it? I do have rear o2 simulators, could that be the problem? Someone please help me!

When did you email me? I just checked my email and I don't see anything from you.
Either way, there are a couple of people who passed with the exact same settings, but it was about a year ago. I'm wondering if they may have changed something in their scanning tools....
I doubt anyone else would be able to help you at this point, since what I used was the only way known to pass, but you can certainly try if you like.
On a different note, I can understand the EGR and AIR not being ready, but I don't understand why you're getting the o2s on there.
Do you know if your county will let you pass with 2 "not-ready"s?
If you do, I can find a different way to fix the other two.

yea, they will let me pass w/ two not readys - would an exhaust leak cause the things not to come on correctly? I do have a slight exhaust leak somewhere, im wondering if i fix that it might help a bit.... i need ideas, im close to having to sell the car!

You probably already have all the help you need, but I will just add my .02 (cents that is). I had my PCM tuned by Ed Wright a long time ago and since he blocked some readouts, my car wouldn't pass until I put my stocker back in for test.
Then I had my PCM retuned by PCMFORLESS, and the readouts were not deleted, so the next time I was able to pass, since the DEQ could read it.
Also, when reinstalling your PCM, you need to drive around for awhile, especially at the lower speeds, varying your speeds before your PCM learns the info. Just driving straight at high speed doesn't seem to work as well.
As far as having 02 sims, I don't know if your PCM would provide a readout with the sims, even if it accepts the sims. I'm sure Madwolf can set you straight on that. JMHO
