Re: TA Versus Z28

As long as both cars are mechanically sound, the z28 "should" theoretically win...

I'd say close call, the 96-97 fbodies were rated 10hp higher then the previous years. Also, generally out of the fbodies the T/A usually turn the best times stock for some unknown reason. However with a CAI and LM exhuast, that z28 might very well win

I vote z28. I barely lost to a 95+ TA once when my car was stock. If i had my loudmouth & cai, i would have whooped em.

Re: TA Versus Z28

I would assume the Z28 would win. The 96 has 10 more horsepower. But it's heavier. Plus CAI + Catback should be around 10-15 flywheel HP.

T/A's are faster as they look better.. lol.. Mine went 13.9 on a paper air filter.. But to be honest.. it'll be a driver's race..

LOL, you guys are laughing, what I was saying though is that in almost every year comparisons the T/A turned better times than the Z28. Usually only a tenth, but just saying, I think in the end it is a driver's race, but the z should win with a decent driver

Re: TA Versus Z28

The Z should win just because it has a couple of mods, but it will come down to who's the better driver. You guy's are basicly raceing the same car.

Re: TA Versus Z28

This thread is silly. When it comes to two cars this similar in power, the driver mod will easily be the most significant...

That's an unfounded statement.. especially if you are rating magazine times?

The LT1's placed in both are of equal power... and the T/A's are a few pounds heavier.. so let's do the math.

Given production variations, it all evens out.

It's ridiculous to state what you're saying as fact.

Re: TA Versus Z28

I really think it would narrow down to a drivers race.
