T56 on Ebay - Questions

Has anyone seen the "Stage IV" T56 on ebay? It says it has stronger internal parts from a Viper and what not. Has anyone got one of these, or heard anything about this guy? Its $1750 plus about $100 shipping. I need a new transmission, as my 3-4 synchro is gone, and I would like to get something a little stronger than stock. Any comments / suggestions?

If you were swapping a T56 into a car that didn't already have one it might be something to consider. In your case I would just remove the transmission and replace the worn parts. Considerably cheaper, especially if you do the work yourself. You can also "upgrade" the parts yourself to Viper spec if it would make you more comfortable. There's not a whole lot that's different.

You probably will want to replace some blockers and synchros, maybe upgrade to steel shift fork. New seals of course. Much cheaper than $1700 I would think it'd be little more than a couple hundred for the parts for a T56 that'll live just fine in your car.

Got any more information for me, about where to get the stuff? I would really like to upgrade the synchros to higher quality, and like you said, the steel shift fork. I just DONT want it to break again, ya know? I don't drive the car hard all the time, but I do like to let her loose every now and then, I will go to the track a few times a year. Anyhow, I think I could probably do the work myself with my friends dad help.

I also might need a third gear, it was grinding alot, when I was shifting into third, I think I may have damaged it.

Thanks...
