I recently had a set of 3.73 gears put on my car and while i was having that done, i decided to have the trans fluid changed. i noticed there was a whine coming from under the car and figured it was from the gears. a week later i had an aluminum driveshaft installed and now the noise has tripled. the guy who put the gears in insists that it's coming from the tranny and echoeing through the driveshaft. it doesn't really sound like it's coming from the rear end. what could it possibly be?

I dont know about the echoeing through the driveshaft. Going to a higher numerical gear will give you whine. Have you launched hard or been hard on the gears lately? Thatll do it more so than putting an aluminum driveshaft on if any.
