Hi. I'm replacing my optispark this week. Also the waterpump. I tried to take out the Thermostat today. The gasket seems to be really stuck on there. Is this gasket re-usable? I'm afraid I'll damage the t-stat trying to pull it out. It's really stuck in there! So how do you get the t-stat out? Thanks.

 

Just carefully pry it up. Once it starts to come up, it will peel off. If the rubber is not damaged, you can reuse it.

You can buy a gasket for it at AutoZone if you damage your current one...it's only $2 or so.
