Synthetic to conventional motor oil...Any issues with this???

After a severe case of pushrod guideplate wear, I know I have some shavings in my engine. Hopefully the filter has them.

I normally run Mobile1 synthetic.

Can I temporarily go back to conventional motor oil in order to flush the engine since it will be cheaper? Any problems to expect?

Synthetic and dyno oil are fully compatable and you can switch back and forth as you please. Whether this will solve you metal shavings is another matter.

btw, the metal shavings are not because of synthetic...synthetic actually protects better

The shavings are from worn push rod guide plates that resulted in a rocker falling off a valve. It quickly wore away one plate in a major way. The shavings are a result of mechanical failure and are hopefully captured in the filter. There should not be major amounts of debris. I just want to do the smartest thing.

I plan on doing an oil change and hope for the best.
