Does your engine shift an excessive amount under load? Is there a "thump" and shudder WOT? When my tranny mount went It would Knock something awful on WOT!

Do you still have the stock motor mounts. If so how many miles are on them.

Yes I have the original motor mounts. The TransAm has 233,000 miles on her! The tranny mount is another story They rip in half on a regular when I'm on it too much. I've changed 3 of them after the 3.73's went in.I think sub connectors would help with that problem.

I'd say it wouldn't hurt to change them. They are only $40 and little labor that a drill can take care of. If you plan on doing headers or any motor work try to do it then because it is easier to do with the headers/manifolds out of the way.

Re: Symptoms of bad motor mounts?

A great symptom is when WOT you get a loud thump against the floor pan, I guess with 4.11 and a cam it's easier to break the mount...so with that said, does anyone know of any 'stronger' tranny mounts, that would last longer under a greater load.

My car only has 30,965mi on it. I haven't checked to see if the motor jumps around, but the motor in my truck sure did when it's mounts went.

I love my washing machine under the hood. Thing would bounce all over the place. But I am putting polly mounts in with the new motor.

I dont think its motor mounts with that low of mileage unless mice got in there and ate them out.
