switching center consoles??

switching center consoles??

i know some person did a site that has step by step instructions on what to do to switch the 93-96 consoles to the 97+ consoles... id love to have the extra cup holders and dont really care about the big gap that would be present if i did the swap... does anyone have that link...??? thanks for any help...

very easy to install. You have to drill out a hole behind the shifter(easy)Also make sure if you buy a newer console to get the metal plate that mounts the front of the console to the floorboard. Or it will shake and flex. ($10 new0

is this doable in a trans am? i'm thinking the gap would not be present in a pontiac...anyone ever do this with a manual tranny? this is an interesting swap.

I did it in a 6speed t/a.

I just took the old one out and put the new one in. There is no gap in the t/a because the a/c controls are on the bottom, so the radio pod comes down lower.

The only thing is it doesn't bolt into/onto the car, so it will slide a little bit, but very minimal, and only if you really push on it.
