ive seen sway bars in like imports that connected the wheel welds together, but i dont have one there... does this mean i have no swaybar? or its a different type of swaybar?

For a every day driver I'd leave the bar on. As my car only see's the track, and a quick drive every now and then to a friends house, I have left mine off. It's not that bad, but then again, I don't drive it everyday.

I think you are thinking of a strut tower brace. Fbodies did not come with one but a lot of people add them for better handling. The swaybar is under the front end of the car, it's a heavy steel bar that connects the front control arms to prevent rolling and swaying in turns. They are much more important for handling than a strut tower brace. All Fbodies have a sway bar, as do just about all new cars today as far as I know.

Sway Bar Removal

Sway bar removal, excellent for the strip but maybe not so for a daily driver as others have said. Regular turns are ok even on ramps are ok. But try this. Pretend your about to get in a accident turn the wheel hard one way and then turn it the other real fast, the car will lean and not react as quick and might even overstteer. (front end plows) Its a little scary, now I hope none of us ever gets into an accident but for the tenth it might give me I'll just keep it on and up the juice lol .
I agree. When I bought my car, it was already set up to be a street/strip machine: HAL QA1's, Eibach Launch Kit , SFCs, BMR Adjustable Torque Arm, etc. and when I looked under the front end, there was a fat sway bar with poly bushings sitting there looking back at me. The car run an 11.52 five years after the motor was built, so I'm thinking that maybe the builder knew what he was doing. So, since he left the sway bar in, who am I to argue.

Did some of you guys used to own mustangs? LOL My swaybar endlink popped a bolt and the car has been poopoo to drive since. Talk about body lean! It feels like a fox body mustang in the curves. Then again, take off the swaybar in a fox body...NOT gonna take a fast turn in that for sure!

The only Ford that I would own would be a tow vehicle.

I already sold the STB on Fbody.com.

Any stories from those of you that have removed the swaybar, track results?

I have been driving without the swaybar on my daily driver since I broke it around for quite awhile. I deffinately agree that the front end comes up much quicker & higher.

I was able to go from a 14.1 to a 13.91 by adding BMR LCA's and removing the front swaybar as the only change. The temp was almost identical.

The problems are obvious though. The car now "tracks" (follows the ruts in the road) MUCH worse. I have to keep both hands on the wheel with a pretty good grip anywhere I go. Also, it is a little tougher to corner, but not too bad. I did notice that if you make any quick corretions that it is tougher to recover.

Great for the track.....alright, but not recommended for the street
