swapping rear end
how hard is it to swap one rear from a lt1 f-car to another lt1 f-car?? i have a good deal on a rear from a 96 and mines is kinda jacked up, so how hard would it be to take, the new rear, from brake to brake, and swap them out?? could i do it by myself, in one day?

Not a problem. It'd probably take a couple hours for the swap.

If the 2000 rear axle assembly has TCS, it uses "4-channel" ABS (same sensors as the TCS). Your 94 does not have TCS, so your ABS is only 3-channel. In addition to the sensors being located in different places (axle ends with TCS, top of the diff housing with 3-channel), they do not produce compatible signals, so your ABS will no longer work. And, the 2000 will have dual brake lines in the back, your 94 only has a single line going to the back brakes, with a t-block on top of the housing.

Not to jack the thread too much, but....
I pulled mine out to take to 1BAD86Z for a ring and pinion and differential install. It is going back in within a few days. I am putting in new control arms and a new panhard rod. Should I just get everything semi-tight, regarding the control arms, torque arm, and panhard rod, then once the car is lowered back to the ground give them the final torque specs? I just don't want the stuff to be preloaded from bolting it all back up incorrectly. Or should I just tighten everything to final specs while the car is still up on jackstands?

So NO it won't work.. Well the rear will work but you just won't have those stupid "I don't know how to drive my car so let the computer do it for me" sensors
