Swapping our LT1 and trans into an K5 Blazer?
Long story short I rescently got my '85 K5 Blazer up and running again and I absolutly love driving it. Only problem is its way slow and gets even worse milage then the TA does. So heres the idea (here we go again)....
...pulling out the LT1 and 4l60 and dropping it in the blazer. then purchasing a LSX and T56 combo and swapping that into the TA...
so what all would be involved in swapping this engine and trans into the truck? i know this isnt really the ideal forum to ask this in but im not really sure where else to take this idea
... dont even get me started on all the other crazy ideas i've had of late

The LT1 is a bolt in, so that part is no big deal. You'll need to upgrade the fuel system (carbed?), including adding a high pressure pump and all FI-spec hoses. I'd reccomend getting one of the JTR books from Summit, either the TPI swapping guide or the S10 V8 manual. Both will have lots of good info on the various issues that come up. I know you're talking full size, but the S10 book will still be a big help.
What trans is in the Blazer? If its a TH700R4, you should be able to swap the output shafts and bolt on the transfer case (or if the original is in good shape, use it as is).
