I have a 93 Camaro with a steel gas tank, and I was reading somewhere that the 99-02 cars had plastic tanks, and weighed 22 lbs, as opposed to 40 for the steel one. What mods are necessary to make this work? I know the LS1's use a different fuel pump assembly with the plastic tank, but would the tank be compatible with the factory 93 fuel pump assembly, or would I need to splice in and run a 99-02 fuel pump assembly??

 

Hmm, after reading through some threads here, it seems that they don't really weigh all that much less than the steel ones. Can anyone verify either claims?
