SVO 42lb injectors, what AFPR?

I am going to buy the SVO 42lb injectors, and was looking at adjustable fuel pressure regulators and was wondering if anyone has advice on which brand/make to get? It is a 383 w/ Le1 heads, LE2 cam and hopefully a 100 dry shot. The nitrous is months down the road, but if these injectors work for it that would be great. I guess my question is mainly what type of AFPR to get and also will my stock fuel pump work w/ these injectors or is that definitly going to be replaced before this runs (without nitrous). I do understand that for the nitrous a fuel pump will be needed, but hopefully not before?

thanks again

If you are planning on a wet nitrous system, there's really no difference in the injector or fuel pressure regulator requirements whether you are spraying or not. Why do you feel you need an adjustable FPR, and not just the stock FPR?

Injuneer: I saw your post on the 1993 IAT thread, so I have to say.

Did you notice he said 100 shot DRY?
Just messing with you..

I run 42 svo's also with a 100 shot dry, sometime I hit it with a 175. But I program all my fuel in thru the pcm, I no use the FMU "its just a band-aid".

You're right... I missed that.

OK... new question. If its dry, how will 96LT1TX add the extra fuel through the injectors when you spray.... something similar to the NOS 5176 kit that boosts the fuel pressure? Or will you use programming, as indicated above?

well, I am not worried about nitrous rightn ow, just trying to get the car running. It is looking more like a wet shot though when I do for tuning purposes. Is the stock fpr good enough for running N/A w/ 42 lb injectors? my tune was set for no nitrous, so I will worry about the nitrous when I get there.

thanks for all the replies, still learning

The injector size doesn't affect the fuel pressure regulator. The stocker will work just fine.

Stock fuel pressure is fine.... no matter what the HP level is. You don't need an AFPR unless you have a good reason, like increasing the flow rate through the injectors to reduce duty cycle. And not all injector types "like" high fuel pressure.

You don't diddle the fuel pressure based on your mods. You change the program. "Tuning" with an AFPR is impractical, because of the logic built into the PCM.
