i have had this car for 4 years,been to the dealer, and an alignment shop. no one can find the problem. when i am at cruising speed low rpms i hear this popping noise from all four corners of the car. it sounds like something has slack in it. ive checked all bolts and replaced the front sway bar bushings with no results. the car handles great, but just sounds like a piece. any ideas? the alignment guy said bushings and tie rod ends ok.

 

someone has to have an opinion on this.

 

Yeah, this is something I'd like to know as well. My popping comes from the front and I've replaced everything. The only thing I can think of is maybe an engine or transimission mount has gone out.

 

maybe an engine mount in front, mine is a 1le so even though i got it with low miles i am sure they were hard ones. mine also does it in the rear though i thought maybe it was inherent on 1les but obviously not.

 

fixed it i noticed when i would go over bumps the tranny would hit the tunnel. i knew it was the tranny mount, so i just replaced it. it was not ripped in to though. it collapsed. the stud broke away from the mount. took it for a test run. like a different car now. no noises, shifts much better. turns out the tranny was bouncing off of the crossmember.
