The conservative side of me would do the 383 but I think I'd end up doing an 8.5:1 355 with T-Trim and Aftercooler and buy a beater car for getting to work and back in.

A nice 450 RWHP 355 F.I. engine would be great.. You would not need a radical cam like a N/A engine and it would have stock idle quality, better emisions and better fuel economy (when not gettin into it all f the time). For daiy driven, this is th ebest of both worlds.. It is a little more complicated to put thoether but not hard at all to tune at that h.p. level.

Price is the main factor against chosing it. A N/A setup would be much cheaper.

The 383 will be much cheaper.

If you only want 400-450 hp just do a NA 355. Unless you're talking rwhp a hot cam with LE heads would make that much easy.
My car with just the hot cam makes 400

Pretty funny most of the supercharged guys are recommending the NA route. I guess alot of us talk from experience.

I would say wait a little but until some new blowers make it to the market. Procharger is in my home town, and I have a few buddies that work for them, and lets just say it would be worth the wait.
