Super-Ram or Miniram intake on LT1??

I ran across a web page while searching around that had dyno tests of various SBC setups. The page can be found here-

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/7610/dyno.htm

I noticed they were using Super-Ram or Miniram intakes on the LTX motors that were tested. This caught my attention because I haven't seen or heard of anyone on here doing this (if anyone is it must have just slipped by).

I know that the Super-Ram is not cheap, and I'm assuming that the Miniram is not either, but what kind of advantages would doing this have, if any? Do the intakes in question have the ability to perform better at high RPM? If these intakes are worthwhile I might consider trying to find a used setup since the intake is cake to swap out compared to everything else on this car!

Miniram is basically a LT1 intake.

Aha, I haven't seen a picture of a Miniram. I have seen the Super-Ram though, and it's quite a bit different- would it show any significant gains?

According to Lingenfelter, they help torque quite a bit on an A4 car and not near as much on a M6 car. However, for a 4th gen F-Body, he had to shorten the height of the plenum which didn't help it any. These type intakes are supposed to help even distribution of air flow through the manifold. If you get one with a cast alum top, they don't seal well, and a billet top is the best way to go.

Ok, ok, ok! Cross your fingers that the coil is my only problem and with a little luck it will be running Thursday
