suncoast creations ram air hood

I have ram air and was noticing the baffle that blocks water or whatever seems like its not a structural peice. Has anyone cut it out and what were the results? I figure at the moment there is some air getting past it through the grill and blowing into the filter but if the baffle was removed the air could flow right past the grill and onto the filter performing like a cold air induction with a straiter shot to the throttle body and less heat soak than a CAI... not trying to start a CAI vs. ram air war just wondering if anyone did this and what the outcome was.

If you cut out the piece that keeps water out of the engine bay you'll most likely get water in the engine bay...

I thought about doing that to mine-but did not.I did not want to take the chance of screwing up my hood.

They dont call it scam-air for nothing!,this obviously keeps water from entering the engine, and all f-bod (firebird & z's)factory and aftermarket hoods have multiple dams before the intake track,do what you want its your car!but youve been warned!

I may try it if its not too hard to remove, the actuall filter seems far back enough I dont think much water or atleast a negligable amount would get sucked into the engine. Doesnt rain a whole lot here adn if its raining hard im not going fast enough to blast any in there, Ill take another look adn see what I wanna do. Its not scamair fresh air still blows over the filter adn from there its a pretty unrestricted path.

might want to try drilling holes(1/2'or so),I'v seen people completly remove the dams, but its risky at best.

Risky from the baffle not blocking water stand point?
