rebuild kit

the old saying goes you get what you pay for.Not sure what the price is,but i am a big fan of eagle.I have one of thier forged rotating assembly 4340 crank,4340 h-beam rods, srp pistons the kit included rings and brgs. this was thier 383 one piece rear main seal kit 1495.00 im sure the 355 kit is a little cheaper.there are nice assembley's avalible but kind of hard to beat the price

p.s. this kit held over 600 rwhp

The Summit kit with forged pistons is around $500, it's not really a good comparison to a $1500 all forged package. I think the Summit kit sounds like a pretty good deal for a budget oriented 355 rebuild with forged pistons. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people here that have used it, maybe they will comment on it.

I called on that one time cause I was thinking of going the same route and the guy told me that it didn't come with forged pistons. I think he said the compression would be 9:1 or something like. i'd call and find out.

To all you guys wondering about this kit. I put it in my 94Z. I love it. It works great. So far I have had no problems with it. After I put it in with 4.11s and BFG DRs I ran a 12.89 on it. I would recommend it if you don't want to spend tons of money.

I just finished putting the kit on my 93. The comp. ratio is 10.4:1 forged pistons. You have to call Summit and talk to a sales associate because it is a custom order deal. You tell him you want forged 10.4:1 30 over pistons and rings, and standard size bearings.
