Summit Chambered Mufflers
Summit Chambered Mufflers
has anyone noticed that summit now has theyre own brand of chambered muffler that closly resembles the chambered mufflers in the gmmg exhaust. i was curious if anyone has heard these in person? how do they sound. they are a bit pricey but if they make the car sound anything like it does with gmmg, but going through a dual setup, it seems like it would be worth it...
I assume they are comparable to these?

ya i imagine that theyre similar to those... but the summit brand look like they have more chambers... something is different.... like i said before they actual closely resemble the mufflers on the gmmg....
.....yeah, according to the Summit catalog its a sound simalar to the; quote "60's muscle car sound". sounds cool, huh? Although expensive! Does anyone make a muffler that is similar but constructed out of mild steel instead of stainless? It'd be cheaper...
Bill...
Bill...
Chambered mufflers on a true dual set-up is supposed to be WAY too loud...someone on the board had done it and decided to sell the two mufflers in order to replace them with something a bit more restricting I believe...

that is me.
i have longtubes with 3" true duals with an xpipe
the 18" sweet thunders were too loud
the 30" summit chambered muffles are much quieter and easy for daily driving. dont get me wrong, its still loud, but my friends car with shorty headers and a borla is louder. there is plenty of room from the X to the rear axle to put the 30"....i had space left over before the axle.
the summit mufflers are manufactured by stainlessworks.net and actually sold for cheaper than stainless sells them.
the summits come in 24" and 30".
the summits are a much nicer build quality than the sweet thunders, but that is also why they are a little more expensive. the sweet thunders have a few large openings for the chambers, whereas the summits have lots of smaller openings.
