subframe connectors take away creaks and rattles???
hey guys, lately i have been noticing that my car is makeing really funny noises, and alot of rattles...everytime you hit a place that isnt perfectly flat in the road, it sounds as if my car is going to fall apart, and when pulling out of a parking-lot onto a road where there is a slight dip, it creaks really bad and seems to twist my whole car! i have heard a few times that sub frame connectors take away 90 percent of the rattles and unwanted noises? is this true, and if so, what is the best kind and where do i get them...if not, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I wanted to do this as a mod, however I also heard that subframe connectors would cause a otherwise stock car to lose traction for example when launching because it stiffens the chassis a little bit therefore "forcing" more power to the rear wheels, instead of allowing it to be lost through chassis flex. Is this true?

Hmmm... That is a paradox. First of all, we are not talking about top fuel on dragsters. Maybe the rails have to flex by nature to be able hook up best.
But then look at other classes of drag cars... with their full cages, they are all VERY stiff. I personally don't want flex in my chassis. If I have my suspension set up correctly, I will get traction with the right tire under the right circustances... until you reach that HP point that NO tire will give you traction. It becomes a weight transfer issue.
Besides... that GM (lack of) quality control shake, rattle and groans just sucks. I have never gotten used to all that and prefer to do whatever I can to eliminate it. And the SFC's helped stop the dreaded T-top leak too.

My SFC's took away all the rattles and creaks out of my car. I would never own another unibody performance car without them. I also saw some guy claim he lost .5 sec on 60' with his only mod being SFC's. I am sure you can just change your tire suspension set up and fix that.

Yeah i would highly recommend them. They got rid of a lot of my car noises. My trunk still makes a little noise every once in awhile. But no where near how it used to. The car also feels a lot more firm.

i probably have every creek and damn rattle an f-body car can make so my question is exactly what noises did it do away with?
also, my car is lowered 1.3 inches what sfc will not cause clearence problems?

Well its not gonna get rid of all the noises. For instance my dash just started to rattle really bad. Also my center console makes a lot of noise because the metal in the back wherer the bolt goes into is stripped so it doesn't stay tight. But it will get rid of a lot of noises that some chassis flex would make. It is a noticable difference on the feel of the car. I think the boxed SFC's hang a little lower but not much. My tubular SFC's aren't takeing away any ground clearence at all.

I just bought the BMR boxed subframes. They are stronger then the tubular but take some ground clearance away. If you go with the BMR tubular subframes they wont take away ground clearance but wont be as strong as the boxed sub's. BUT you probably wont ever need anything stronger then the tubular so you win either way you go. The boxed set cost me $150 from www.thunderracing.com Good luck
