Stupid Welder!!

Yesterday I was having my SFC welded in and the idiot welder burned a hole in my fuel line! Anyway it was quite a scare I was standing next to a fire extinguisher and the fire was extinguished pretty quickly. Well they were kinda scared to continue the welding, so now I have 2 partially welded SFC's and a hole in the main fuel line (the plastic line).
They patched the fuel line by cutting it off, and clamping a piece of fuel line in place. It got me home, but I am not comfortable driving like this. Where can I get the fuel line, and what is the part number for it?
It is the one that comes from the fuel filter (when it becomes plastic) I guess I have to change the whole thing, but I read somewhere they don't sell them seperately, true?
Thanks.

It's pretty much common sense that a piece of metal that is so hot that it is liquid, will melt through a nylon hose. Ever seen any pics of peoples cars that were gutted by fire when they did the same thing and could not get it extinguished right away? I would consider yourself extremely lucky.

GM does recommend replacing the line as a unit and not splicing into it.

Yea, you'll see a lot of posts in here regarding everyone getting their car caught on fire.

Happened to me, the fuel lines are sold in 3 sections, there are quick connects in the middle of the car to just plug the new lines in. I'm assuming he burned them while welding in the drivers side front, if so you want part #10258441. I don't have the part numbers for the other sections.

That's why a lot of the SFC's that you see sold have directions that explicitly say to move the fuel lines to a safe spot before welding.

Yeah you can't be too careful when welding near fuel lines. The extra couple minutes of work to remove them is worth it.
