Where did you get DLC? I have never heard that. There is a ALDL that is by your right leg under the dash.
Take a paper clip and fold it in half. Make sure the car is off. Put one side of the clip in the top right hole. Put the other side in the hole right next to it. Turn the key over 1 click, do not start the car. Watch the SES light. It will blink once, pause, then blink twice. It will do this a total of three times. This is code 12. It lets you know you are in the right mode. Keep watching the lights and count them. The first set is the first number of the code. There will be a puase and then the second number. The computer will flash the total code three times and go to the next one. The last code will be 12 again.
Just be carefull. I will try to send you a diagram. It is hole (A) and (B) you need to connect.
If you need more help just ask.
