The one on the side of the head.....or the water pump???
The one on the pump. It tell's the PCM the engine temperature and when its way off it messes up the a/f ratio.

Re: stumble at cold start up (~1 min.)

When my headgasket blew, it was a very, very small leak. When i first start the car after a long period of time it would putter and spit for about 10sec then it burnt off all the coolant out of the cylinder and be fine. Did a leakdown test in one of my classes and showed the cylinder loosing pressure. When i took off the drivers side head, i saw the leak. Replaced the gasket and hasn't done it since.
