Stumble at ~2K -- Already did search??
I did a search because I know this problem seems to occur often. I have a 94 Lt1 A4 with 80K miles and basicly stock. After it gets heated up I get the stumble as many others do. The stumble is in 4th gear sometimes 3rd from 1500-2000k.
I scanned it yesterday and my O2s function normally (they jumped all over) and I scanned for codes both present and stored and there were none.
1)In another post someone suggested that a problem with the Egr could cause it. Would that problem throw a code? How do I fix it or check it?
2)What do I look into now? What else could this be?
I am relieved that I didn't get any opti related codes, but I am about to sell this car and don't want to sell it with it sumbling when hot problem.
Thanks,
Sean

Do you have the correct plugs in the car? and how many miles are on the plugs? Plug wires? original, if so could be wire problems. My 94 was doing the same thing and it was the plugs. A dealer had put wrong plugs in at a 30000 mile tune up.
I just put in Bosche platinums about 2 months ago. The wires I believe were changed at 60K, but I didn't own it then.
Should I check it in the dark for arching? or? Would the wires be visibly burnt to be causing this stumble or could it be an internal thing with the wires?
