struts suck
that seriously sucked a$$. i tried to cut through the shock shaft...there was no chance in hell anything could cut through that metal. the only thing i could see cutting through it was an acetylene torch, but thats not too smart
. i had to drill out the bolt, and then of course pop out that dog biscuit...and the pain was finally over! ive got to do the other side now and i really dont want to take off the master cyclinder, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Re: struts suck
I just did this job today and I ended up having to grind down the nut then I just kept hitting it with a hammer till it finally gave but when I was grinding the nut, I hit the rubber peice a few times and it ripped in one place so I will replace it but what exactly does it do? It lookes like it sits below the mounting surface of the upper mount so it doesn't even look like it makes contact with the upper wheel well. Does the top actually deflect enough while driving to make contact with the inner top wheel well so they put the rubber there to soften it almost like the bump stop in the rear or what? I'm kinda curious to it's actual function.
