Strong Driveshaft???

Who makes a really strong one for an M6 car with a Mcleod dual disk and Strange 12 bolt making 600rwhp and 600rwtq seeing 6600 clutch dumps on ET streets? The car weighs 3555lbs. with me in it?

Dennys all the way. I have met him and toured his shop and his work and advice are both 2nd to none.

Denny's or Mark Williams. MW has a good deal on their chro-moly 3" driveshafts and the things are tough as nails.

Mark Williams 3" chrome moly, with high impact solid 1350 u-joints. Weighs approx 2# more than the stock steel DS.

The one thing about aluminum in anything is that it fatigues. Connecting rods, driveshafts, rocker arms whatever... the stuff gives out with use. That's why I have always steered clear of aluminum driveshafts in cars that do nothing but run the 1320.

I ran the 3" chro-moly shaft w/solid u-joints for about 2 years in a street car putting down about 600 rwhp and an occasional nitrous shot on top of that. I never had a problem with the driveshaft and the car (now sold) is still running strong on the same shaft.
The fastest "street-car" I've owned went 8.49/160.34 on a Mark Williams 4" chro-moly shaft. And it did this consistently for a season before I went to a small block and a slightly slower setup. Used the same shaft for the next two years before selling that car. So MW's stuff is up to the task as far as I'm concerned and I need not look anywhere else for a driveshaft. Nothing against Denny's, they make a good shaft too, just my personal experience here.

MW also makes an aluminum composite shaft that's supposedly about 55-60% (don't remember exactly... been a year or so) lighter than their same-diameter chro-moly offerings. That may be a good option for you if you're looking for the lighter stuff. About three bills cheaper than a carbon fiber job too.

Mark Williams Enterprises
http://www.markwilliams.com/

Let me encourage you to use the .pdf catalog and stay away from their "search" thing. It's a royal PITA.

I'm also interested in the weight of the Denny's nitrous ready shaft. It's a better price than the Mark Williams but are you sacrificing weight?

Another option is to go with a Spohn driveshaft.
