Car started to overheat last week. Thought it was the tstat and was wrong. Pulled H20 pump and the spline out of the motor and the sleeve were both stripped. Did not want to pull off the timing chain cover so for an extra $130 over the price of new parts, I opted to go Electric. Ordered the pump on Thursday from Summit and it arrived on Friday! Had it running that night and back on the road Saturday. The only hassle was removing and installing the fan shroud several times to get the right amount of trimming – did not want to trim off too much material. Stays just above 180 with full AC in stop-and-go traffic.

If you bought the Meziere HD electric pump, it will last a long time. I've had mine in my Vette for 7 years and it is great. You'll never have that opti killing weep hole leak. Good upgrade.

FWIW my Meziere has been on 16 years and 85k mi......YMMV

Wow. 7 years and 16 years. I made the change to avoid pulling off the timing chain cover. Hope I get the same longevity as you have had.

BTW I finally got the WP drive seal to stop leaking. I did not install it dry. Used a small amount of engine oil and it went on easy and has not leaked.

Just so you know, when I changed over to the Meziere water pump, I did remove the gear inside the timing cover. Why? Because it is an area where another oil leak can and will develop.

I replaced my water pump a few weeks ago and now that I'm working on the suspension I see oil seeping off damper was I supposed to replace some spline seals that didn't come with mechanical water pump

I replaced the spline seal in the timing cover since mine was leaking. I could see it was leaking with the water pump removed. Most cars are not leaking from that seal so most people do not replace it when they replace the pump.
