Stripped three polylocks, now what?

Using the Comp Pro Mag's (bought off anther board member), I was tightning the polylocks and they were doing okay, except three of them stripped and never clicked. So I figure I am SOL until I can call Comp and get them ordered Is this normal? I mean, I have never had this problem before, and it seems odd.

I was just waiting to hear the 'click' and got nothing.

Ok, I'm lost on this one. What do you mean by "click" on a poly lock? I know they can groan a little if you crank down on them with a t-handle allen, but not click per se. Are you torquing them to something? Just wondering..

No, they click when you get them tight enough. It is a defined "click".

Everyone I know does them the same way, and thats why they dont come loose.

Well, my current comp pro-mags don't "click", and neither did the crane's I had before these. If you have any lube on those things, they don't make a sound. Like I said before, they may groan a little if you try to break the t-handle off on em, but as far as a defined click, they are not designed to do that. All your doing is tightening up a jam-nut. Nothing in there (built in wise) that'll make them click. If you wanna get them tight so as to have them not back off, then just tighten them per usual, and then turn the bottom 5/8's hex along with the jam nut as the final tightening. Don't turn it much though, as it doesn't take more than a smidgen to get it seriously tight. If you have indeed stripped out three poly's, then your trying to get them TOO tight. All they need to do is not move. They don't have to become one with the car

Seen many of post saying tighten till you hear them click, like this one for example:

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...ght=poly+click

"had that problem, had to re-adjust the valves 2 times. you gotta tighten the poly locks down until you hear a "click"."

Sometimes they click, sometimes they dont. The right way to do it is use the preload to tighten them. As in tighten lock down all the way when you have 1/16 turn to go, then make athat 1/16 turn. This loads the polylock against the rocker stud and will prevent the adjuster from moving.

so does it even matter that mine are stripped, since i can still easily get them to go all the way down, just not torque them

Never heard of a click (or anyone stipping them, for that matter). It does not take that much torque to tighten them so they stay locked.
