STRIPPED spark plug threads in head....freaking out.....HELP

How do I deal with this. i went to checker and bought the spark plug thread finder or something like that and it did not work. After an hour of trying to get the spark plug in I finally got the spark plug in. Once I cranked it up with everything back together their is air shooting out of the spark plug threads in the head. Will the helicoil fix this or I am completely screwed.

How much would be a good price for a shop to do the helicoil and what are the chances of it working???

It is the spark plug under the alternator, MAC headers just got installed.

The head is going to have to come off to be drilled out and have the helicoil installed. Sorry dude.

Not that I'm aware of. You actually have to drill out the head to install the Helicoil.

You could try a tap and chase the threads but from the sound of it the things already beyond help.

yeah, head will have to come out unless you can possibly drill out the hole with the head on the car, but then where do you think all the shavings will go
