Street Driving

How hard is to drive in the rain with a full exhaust? About 340-350lbs of torque? On turns and such i'm talking about... from a stop on a hill?

Mind the throttle and you'll be fine.

I accidentally pulled a 180 turing onto a one way street 2 days ago in the rain. I only have a catback. It was fun none the less and I played it off like I did it on purpose Just try to keep off the trottle, but good luck with our cars.

It's all about the tires. Good tires, no problem. Not so good, you'll slip and slide.

I've had two slip and slides with my TA (closer to 450 lbs of torque). One was at 65 mph on bald tires, got new tires the next day. The second was turning off the interstate. At the top of the turn you have to yield (which I did) then as I took off, the car started slipping back down the hill. Little clutch play and the problem was solved. As stated, good tires will make a lot of difference.

I won't go into the adventures I had with my 406 equipped S10. That was not fun to drive in the rain.

Keep the ASR on

I was on the highway in San Antonio the other day and some guy got on in front of me going like 50, so I tapped the brakes, then accelerated to switch lanes. I hit a punch point (doh!) and my back end got squirly on me and went into the grass median.

It's not hard to drive in the rain though. You just can't be a lead-foot on the accelerator.

Just remember to turn it off when you want to show off again, or else you'll look like a moron.

Umm....it's simple, don't get on it and you'll be fine. I've never lost control in my car because I don't drive it like a dumbass.

So even with a full exhaust and free mods like K&N, intake, etc... I shouldn't be all over the place as long as the foot stays off the floor right... L0L

What about gas mileage... how much does it drop after those mods. Its a M6

Just be careful and you'll be OK. My daily driver is a 399 rwhp M6 with 4.10 rear gears, 315 tires in the rear, and a clutch that is either ON or OFF... not much slipping going on with it. I have not had a problem but then again, I'm very careful. Just be cautious and you'll be OK.

Be careful and keep good tires and you'll be ok. Gas mileage doesn't go down w/ just bolt ons, the thing that makes it go down is you get on it so much more than when it is stock

Just ease the throttle and you'll be ok.

Usually bolt ons don't kill gas mileage directly, they indirectly make your right foot heavier.

The thing that really kill gas mileage is gears.

Like everybody else has mentioned, driving in the rain is easy if your tires arent bald and your foot isnt glued to the floor.

I personally found out the limits on the leadfoot during rain just through experience and messing around occasionally. I think messing around is the easiest way to learn how your car will handle in certain situations, but I wouldnt exactly recommend it.
