Strange VS Moser 12 Bolt???
Strange VS Moser 12 Bolt???
planning to FINALLY get one of these bad boys! 10 bolt is NOT holding for these 10 sec time slips NEMORE
almost wrecked and died last week at the track when my posi went out and it causing only one tire to see torque after shifting into second gear and then spraying, got me all sideways
was pretty cool though i still pulled an 11.5 @ 100mph from caosting after 3/4 the way down the track.. oh well...
so yea neways which one is going to be better to go with? as far as quality and transfer of parts! i have all aftermarket suspension, BMR adj torque arm, panhard rod, sway bar, LCA's etc! oh yea and an ls1 aluminum driveshaft! so which one should i swing towards? i dont care about ABS or TCS since i have both gutted neways
thanks

if you dont care about abs, i would go with a ford 9" rear.
otherwise, from what i hear, the strange comes ready to go (without the axles painted though) but is a little more expensive than the moser

My Strange even came filled with fluid!!! With the Moser you have to assemble it...axle shafts...etc.. from what I understand. Your stock swaybar clamps won't work and stuff like that. My Strange is so so quiet too.

Took me 2hrs to press bearings in,put back-braking plates on, and fill my rear-end with fluid. Spent $70 on a Sphon sway-bar kit with better endlinks and bigger u-clamps..Mine whines just a tad. Id go Moser again if I had the choice.
Moser is a lil cheaper also but you have to do a lil work to get it under the car which doesnt take long at all..

One thing that you have to consider with the Strange is that is already comes with ABS and the 1350 series yoke ($35). The Moser is $2020 without ABS ($100 extra) and you don't have to buy swaybar clamps either. I've also heard of SOME of the Mosers that whine like a ****. There were 3 or 4 who Moser had to pay for another gear install to fix the problem. Both are good rears however.

Strange must have changed their base pricing... when I bought mine (more than 3 years ago), 3-channel ABS was $100 extra.
The things that come with the Strange, including full assembly, do have "value"....
-1350 pinion yoke
-crossover u-joint of your choice
-filled with GL5/LSD
-"run in" at the factory
-stock DS length
-no backing plate swap, unless 4-channel ABS/TCS
-stock sway bar brackets
-all attachment brackets identical to stock
The only work required:
-paint it
-correct the hole location for the brake hose retention bracket on the drivers side
-add a spacer to the brake line tee that bolts to the top of the housing
I saw the Strange hold up to a 950HP/3,900# convertible running well into the 9's.
Mine was silent with the 3.73's that came with it, and I've had no problems at all with a swap to US/Strange ProStreet 4.11's.
