Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my Z maybe someone knows whats going on...

I'm driving down the freeway when all of a sudden the car dies like I had turned off the key so I coast off the freeway and try to start it again, nothing...

So I wait about two hours (I'm in the middle of nowhere!) and it starts, So I **** *** for home, get about halfway there and damn if it doesn't do it again.

I leave the car there and pick it up later in the day and almost make it home and it dies again, I'm stumped PLEASE HELP!

Other than that the car runs better than it ever has...

Check the igniton switch. I had to replace mine at 40k.

 

I see in your signature that you have an annilhator ignition; I'm not familiar with that unit but my Crane ignition left me stranded several times. If you let it cool off, it would restart. Crane sent me a replacement Fireball ignition and the newer design has been trouble free. I would suggest bypassing your annilhator and see if the problem goes away.

 

i had that same problem . what it was was a loose plug way up underneath the dash on the right of the stering colum next time it happens try sticking your hand up there and wiggle the wires and plugs around see if it does anything. my insurance company towed my car like six times before i found the problem
