Ok, I have been chasing an engine noise for some time now, just replaced the lifters thinking that was the problem because of a failed comp r, but it wasn't the noise. The noise sounds like chatter of a roller rocker, but I adjusted those roller rockers 3 times just to make sure it wasnt. they dont come loose when revved, and the noise is still there barely. The noise now happens ONLY on deceleration on the 2nd cylinder from the front on the passenger side. I could only hear this when the catalytic converters and muffler was on, and it was just over 2500rpms or so. it is in no way loud, you have to really be listening for it, and I did have one EGR vaccum hose unplugged. Could that have been all the noise was? I guess maybe the noise is travelling from over the intake manifold to there? I cant hear it now, im running straight headers with part of my y-pipe connected up to before they come to the y.

anyone have any ideas? connecting rod pin? piston ring?
going to track this weekend so I need to fix it soon.
