Storage. . . to start or not to start
well I started it today... Im glad I did. For the first few miles the power kinda pulsed (pulsing sped up with higher rpms) like it had something to do with the valvesprings being weakened... It leveled out for the most part though. I ran it for nearly an hour and parked it again. I think one cold start was worth relieving the valvesprings, and flat spots in the tires etc. Heck Im saving the car from probably 200 cold starts by storing it
Dang I cant wait til spring
Dang I cant wait til spring
I've never started mine for the last 7 years that I've stored it, and I've never had problems with springs or anything else.
I would not start it.
My car has run perfectly since the day I bought it new. It always has that little shake after it's sat for a while, but smooths out very quickly, like you noticed.

Change the oil before you put it away.. The acids in used oil aren't the greatest thing in the world for your bearings... Once that's done -- forget it. If you have to start it, make sure it gets up to operating temperature -- both the coolant and the oil. Starting your car for 5-10 minutes every week is doing more harm than good.. You'll end up with condensation in your oil and your exhaust system...The worst thing you'll (probably) end up with from four months of dead storage is flat-spotted tires..
