Stocker's rockers

Are they roller-tipped or no? If so, I'll take a set of someone's stock rockers if they have no use for them

Stamped steel with no rollers of any kind.

Re: Stocker's rockers

They are not roller tipped. They are just plain ol' stamped steel "ball/cup" rockers.

Re: Stocker's rockers

*sigh* same as on my 305. Guess I'll be forking out a bit of money for rockers anyways, might as well just go with 1.6s, but then that means I can't use the cheap LT4 springs. I'm looking at EX-612s, Isky 235-Ds, and Compcams 986s or whichever fits stock LT1 heads. I like the idea of beehive springs, but those are up around $200 for the Compcams sets.

Re: Stocker's rockers

i think the cc305 is already pushing the LT4 springs to the limit with out 1.6's. I forgot what the 305 lift is but i think its probably dang close to being to much for those springs.

Re: Stocker's rockers

The cam I'm using has .479/.501 lift with 1.5 rockers which means .511/.534 with 1.6 rockers. The 1.6 rockers would exceed the LT4 spring limits, but 1.5s would be okay.

It seems Proform stamped steel 1.6 roller rockers aren't too badly priced.

Also, I thought that these LT1 heads had press-in rocker studs stock, but there is a spot to put a wrench on the bottom of each of my rocker studs. Do all studs, even press-in studs, have this? Looked odd to me, I figured they were screw-in studs when I saw them and got confused.

Sorry for all of the questions, but I just got a set of LT1 heads here (complete minus rockers), and I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to replace, etc. etc.

Re: Stocker's rockers

I've got a complete set of rockers/rocker studs off a stock LT1 that are in fine shape. They can be yours for $20 including shipping. LMK

Edit: I'd also consider the 612 spring kit. Affordable, strong, and gives you room to grow.

Re: Stocker's rockers

I went with the EX612s (locks/retainers) for my 306 cam. They worked great..and I got them for 12x.00 shipped to my door. Not bad.
