LT1 no fuel- optispark cause this?

I have a LT1 that I removed from a 95 Camero and I'm installing it in a 78 280Z.
Well I can't get it to run..
I have power to the injectors but the computers job is to ground them when fuel is needed and its not doing this.
I received no faults, now when I sprayed starting fluid in it, it poped and banged something horibble, could I have put the optispark on wrong?

I think the pcm receives signals from the opti telling it is turning, and then the pcm sends the ok to the pump making it turn on.

Vats could be to blame. What have you done about that?

Also, how long did the motor sit up before now? I had to tap on every single injector to get them to start working after I swapped my motor in.

Cool Re: LT1 no fuel- optispark cause this?

Well, the optispark is a real piece of work, chances are if you got a motor that was sitting for any amount of time, it need a new one, the mositure, and rust just pilage that thing... and yes, if the computer receives a bad/no signal from the opti, the injectors will not operate... i would know. however, the opti doesnt designate the fp to turn on (im quite sure of that) so if your fuel pump isnt turning on thats more likely not the opti. Also make sure the plug wires are on the right spot as well... i know that sounds dumb but everybody makes mistakes.

Sure sounds like the vats is still disabling the injectors. Until I burned my new chip to disable the VATS, I had the exact same issue.

LT1Z Do yourself a big favor and buy a programming cable. It is mandantory when you are a transplanter. 1 Click of the mouse make VATS go away! You will need it for a few other things as well. Check my sig. I am a transplanter too. If you want to join a forum about transplanting chevy int mainly german cars PM me.I wont post a link here to another forum out of respect of the admins.

Your problem is sure consistant with VATS being enabled.

Even if the VATS is ok, if the opti is not sending signals to the PCM, the injectors will be disabled. Near the bottom of this procedure is where you can prove if opti signals are present.

[QUOTE=Polo-94Z28]and yes, if the computer receives a bad/no signal from the opti, the injectors will not operate... i would know. however, the opti doesnt designate the fp to turn on (im quite sure of that) so if your fuel pump isnt turning on thats more likely not the opti.

FYI, the pcm controls the pump which you probably know. But, the pcm will not operate the pump if it doesn't receive the correct signal from the opti. And I also believe the injectors continue to work even if the pcm receives no signal.
