I am sure you saw the other thread, a person did not recommend the Lunati set. Cloyes needs a electric WP. Maybe you should check it out.

How low mileage?

I have heard the Lunati set had a billet gear and in the other post they are saying its stock GM parts......either way it's not worth the $$$.

I sure hope everyone knows that a standard SBC chain set will need an electric water pump or else they have something else comming.

Another vote for the stocker...I just have the stock GM timing set in my LPE 383. Getting ready to pull it apart for a custom Joe O. cam...Just going to spend the $80 on a new GM set...Heck Joe runs in the 9s on his GM set...

Not to mention the quickest 60' on stock suspension...I guess the stocker can handle itself.

Re: Stock Timming Chain?

Shoebox... I'm about to order a Cloyes double roller set for my 383 setup. I have an electric waterpump and my TA is a 95, so I have the vented opti. Can you check out this link and make sure I'm not going to be making a mistake by ordering this set...

Thanks

That seems to be the one everyone uses (at least a search says so).

Re: Stock Timming Chain?

ive gone through two stock timing gears/chains in 3yrs. this time, the chain was "stretched", and it was bought as part of the set brand new from teh dealership last year. I kept the stock waterpump and went with the lt4 extreme duty.
