stock timing chain okay??

im building a 355 with ported heads, xe 230/236 cam, and ross racing pistons, and i want to know if it would be okay to use a stock timing set. I was in on the group purchase for a double roller and electric water pump, but they said it would be a week to ship it, and now its been 3 weeks and they still do not have the parts, i cannot wait any longer...should i go lt4 set? or will stock lt1 be okay?...where can i get the best price on an lt4 set?

If you are already spending quite abit on the motor, you might as well top it off with an LT4 extreme duty timing set. They are about $200.

But if cash is tight, how often do you hear people complain about breaking their timing chain...not often

I agree with Valkyn71, but why chance it. If you place the oem LT1 chain next to an LT1/LT4 ED set, there is no comparison.

Invest the extra bucks now and you won't have to worry about it later.
