stock studs with GM 1.6 SA rockers

I'll be fine using my stock studs when I install my GM 1.6 SA rockers tomorrow, right? These rockers should also be alright with my stock springs for now...right?

The stock studs will be fine for the GMPP 1.6RR's. The springs are another thing though, if its a stock cam you should be ok. If you are using an aftermarket cam with more lift than stock, I would look into getting some better springs.

Thanks!

I just got new heads, and I had Lloyd Elliott use 7/16" stud instead of 3/8" ones because it wasn't much extra $$$ to do, and I got a fairly "aggressive" cam (see sig). I only did it for peace of mind, you should be fine tho.

Yes after I have Lloyd port a set of heads I'll most likely sell these rockers and go with NSA 1/6 rockers with 7/16 stud. That and a nice set of Crane 99893 springs and I should be set...just a bit low on funds after my TT2 purchase.

Lloyd is a great guy! He lives about an hour from me in Red Oak, TX...

My friend used the stock springs for a few months with 1.6 rockers, he would get into valve float around 5500 rpm. Just be careful.

Valve float above 5500 rpms? Even with the stock cam?

No problems with the factory studs. I'm using them with no problem. You'll run into problems with the stock springs though.
