how much HP can a stock Motor take? i hear 500


and i plan to go close to 480-500hp should i upgrade my clutch and if so do i need to upgrade the tranny to? and if there is anything else your info is greatly wanted

What breaks sorta depends on how you go about obtaining 500 hp.

 

Are you running an auto or 6spd tranny ? If you have an auto you will more than likely need to upgrade the tranny. If you have an M6 they can take alot of abuse and you should be fine. You will need to upgrade the clutch to a SPEC111 or SPEC1111. You will also need to jump to a atleast a 12 bolt rear for that kind of power since your stock 10 bolt wont hold it. If you go the 12 bolt or 9" rear rout, you can upgrade to a Mcloud street twin clutch wich is the best for our cars IMO. Whatever you do, dont get the ST and use it with your 10 bolt because it will never hold it under hard launches.

 

its a 6 speed, if i go a 12 bolt i will probaly get 3.73 gears but thats down the road, im hoping right now the car stock with 410hp i can launch just fine and not have to worrie to much, but as my upgrades go on and over 430 or so ima upgrade rearend and other stuff
