Angry Stock LT1 won't idle

Just like the Subject says, the damn thing won't idle! We returned the car back to stock from a 396ci stroker and now it won't idle at all. We have to have the gas depressed in order to keep it running. Ran DataMaster on it and nothing looked out of the ordinary so I don't know what the problem is. We also did a compression check on the motor while on the stand and it checked out perfectly. All the plug wires wer put on while on the stand as well so we know their on snug. Also checked the injector wiring harness to make sure we had those on right - all checked out.

Give me a list of things that could be causing it and I'll make a check-list and just run through them all. It's driving me nutz!

A little search would help.

It must be the IAC. I had the same problem.

I posted under the title "car doesn't idle". Search and you will find all details even how to check if it is the IAC or not.

Haha, yup, that's my SN here. On NorCal I'm "BlackHawk303".

KDub,
Have you figured this out yet? I've got the same issue now.

What did DataMaster show for IAC counts? What about MAP? What about TPS? what about coolant temp?

When you keep your foot on the throttle, does it run "OK" indicating it is simply a problem of not getting enoigh air to maintain RPM, or does it still run rough when your idling with your foot on the throttle?

Did you reprogram the PCM back to stock? Did you clear the PCM? Did you attempt to "baseline" the idle control counts - Shoebox has a procedure on his website?

check the IAC...but also check the intake system. make sure the intake elbow is properly on the Throttle body, make sure the MAF and intake connect properly with no leaks.... mine was always doing that

What he said.

The intake boot should slide nicely over the TB. If you have to force it at all, it's not on there right. Check that, because it's usually the bottom this is off just slightly. It may look good from the top,. but it's off the bottom.
