The ported stock heads will work fine, how much power do you wanna make? Unless you plan on going like mid 10's all motor they will work. people have made 410+rwhp with stock ported heads

People are far too quick to ditch the stock heads, they are a great starting point especially if staying stock displacement or low rev stroker. Check out eportworks.com he is a board favorite porter with exellent prices.

what kind of power do you guys think im looking at, with the stock ported heads and a 306 cam, ill have all the bolt ons by the time im ready to do this. also with this setup would i benefit any from changing my fuel pump, putting in a adjustable fuel pressure regulator, injectors, and a throttle body?

Re: stock lt1 heads?

Skip the adjustable fuel pressure regulator all you would accomplish with it is making your tuners job harder.
The stock heads can benifit from larger valves if the bowl work is done to match, if self porting maybe skip it, if having them ported then talk to the porter.
