9.025 nominal on block height. The stock gasket is .049 and a Fel Pro 1074 is .039. Your piston stock is in the hole about .020-.025. Your stock valve reliefs are 7-8CC's.

Re: Stock deck height? trying to figure CR

so putting on the 62cc trick flows will only drop my CR to about 10.2?

and running a 62cc head with 21cc dished pistons would drop me all the way to about 8.2?

does this sound right to everyone?

thanks,
jeremy

More than that.Your stock heads are 54CC's with 10.8 stock compression.

I thought LT1s had 10.4 and LT4s had 10.8 because the LT4 has 2 vlave relief pistons vs. the LT1s 4 valve reliefs...please correct me if I'm wrong

You should "dry" build the motor and then measure how far down the piston is. Factory deck height is not always perfect. Core shift does happen.

Yep ya are right, but .4 in compression don't mean a whole lot as low as you are.

Re: Stock deck height? trying to figure CR

The decks are usually around 9.020-9.030"

Use the 9.025".... but the pistons are commonly .020-.025" in the hole.
