stock catted y-pipe

Does anyone know of a part number for a stock catted y pipe for a single cat LT1 car? I just had my car diagnosed by my mechanic as to why I kept failing emissions. I had a feeling it was my cat and O2s; sure enough those were the problem causers. He quoted me at ~$580 for a y pipe, yet Summit sells an exact stock replacement for $250. When I mentioned this he said how "it's not the same chemical as the OEM replacement" . Then he quoted me at $85/O2 sensor. I just laughed at him and told him I can get a pair of AC Delcos shipped for less than that (Thanks Jason Cromer ).

Summit Catted Y-pipe will this work or is my mechanic right about the chemicals found in this vs. a OEM one?

Summit part number is CTO-9069

Why not just buy a cat and have that installed? No reason to throw down extra green for pipe you already have...

Like what he said above, just have a new cat welded in along with some new 02's much cheaper fix...
