Stock cam valve lift.....

Can someone tell me the stock cam lift specs. Im figuring under .500 and the hot cam i think is .525 but im interested in getting a cam lower because of valvetrain wear or something. Thanks

Because of valvetrain wear or something???

If you're valvetrain is worn out going to a smaller cam will not help it. If it's wore out, it's wore out. Only thing to do is replace it. Besides, going lower will hurt your power too. What makes you think your valvetrain is worn out?

http://www.grandsportregistry.com/lt1vslt4.htm gives you the lift of the lt1 and lt4.

nope, my valvetrain isn't worn out at all, I baby my car around and i only have 58300 miles, i usually do highway miles and im thinking getting a hotcam will wear out the valvetrain faster imo.... Thanks for the reply tho

Re: Stock cam valve lift.....

If you get the hotcam, you need new valvetrain anyways. So don't worry about it. Also, valvetrain doesn't wear out like you think, unless you have a ton of power and lift, like .700 lift, I would not be worried one bit about wearing it out. Another thing, 58,000 miles is nothing, I have 182,000 miles with stock everything, even opti. Some people are in the 220+ and I remember someone being in the 250+.

Stock cam lift is .450I/.460E on the 93-95's and .447I/.459E on the 96 and later - that's with the stock 1.5X rockers. LT4 HOT cam is .525I/.525E with 1.6's.
